We have run over 300 busses over seven years and unfortunately we have experienced one break down. It was a nightmare for everybody, especially our team, because we are committed to getting you to your destination in a safe, affordable, and expedient way.
Unfortunately breakdowns are an unavoidable reality in the transportation business. It doesn’t matter if you’re American Airlines, Bolt Bus, or ShuttleHome you are not immune to mechanical failure. The reason why we have such a great track record is because we only use the highest quality — ADA approved — busses and we only work with drivers with 5+ years experience driving a coach bus.
In the case of a break down we do everything in our power to make sure the problem is handled immediately.
Here’s what we did during our one and only breakdown: we broke down in a Walmart parking lot so all of our passengers were safe. We loaded the working busses up and sent them ahead. It was Sunday at 6pm on a holiday weekend and within 20 minutes we had another bus and driver on its way to pick up the students. We let all of the parents know about the breakdown on our twitter feed and while the bus was en-route we told the students to grab dinner. We then offered each passenger on the bus a $20 food voucher or $30 credit on future ShuttleHome trips.
